Your first leg, to AMS, will be a "domestic" flight as you are staying in the Schengen area. So you DO NOT go to T5; you will in all likelihood check in at Terminal 3 (I've flown this same early KLM flight 10-12 times!). After check-in, you'll probably depart from Gates B,C, or D. You will then go through passport control at AMS and enter the secured "international," non-Schengen area of Schiphol (the AMS airport). Schiphol is one of our favorite airports, complete with tons of shopping, a spa, and a casino! Good Luck! Ron Ciao Elane!
