The “Best” Place to Stay in Rome is…

hotel sign2 The Best Place to Stay in Rome is... The most visited pages on this website consistently answer the question, “Where should I stay when I visit Rome?”

There is perhaps no “best” answer! Your preferences may be driven by location, cost, comfort, transportation options, the need for a swimming pool, being close to shopping venues, parking your rental car, being able to walk to all sites, an early morning flight from FCO, or an interest in the arts. And there are hundreds of other factors! Further complicating the matter is the sheeer number of accommodations in the Roma area – well over 2,500 unique options.

I’ve written many articles trying to help people find their “best” place. Yet with a website of 150+ posts and 1600+ printed pages – and growing – these recommendations can easily get lost on this site. Just as you can get lost seeking a place to stay! So I’ve created this “sticky” which will remain at the top of the website. Here I will post the links to the current accommodation articles on this site. I hope this information allows you to make the “best” informed decision on which accommodation is “best” for you! I’ll continue to add separate areas of town and keep the current postings updated. Below you’ll see those most “referenced” areas by travelers:

Central Rome

Lower-Cost Options

Airport Options

Specific Hotels Where We’ve Stayed Recently

Other Accomodation Options

In many of these articles there are links that also allow you to sort a specific area “by price.” The rankings in these posts were pulled primarily from two sites, www.booking.com and www.venere.com. I use both these sites quite often. Many times I am able to beat the prices on the hotels’ websites – especially if these vendors are running close-out specials for the hotels. I like these two sites because there are usually plenty of comments. And on these two search engines you can ONLY post a comment if you’ve actually stayed there… so no “false” posts added to pad the ratingss.

Whenever I book through a 3rd-party (which is about 98% of the time), I always email the hotel to confirm our stay. I staple their email reply to my www.booking.com or www.venere.com reservations and the email serves as a great “insurance” policy! The hotel email usually has an hotel employee name – great in case of an confusion…

I hope these links help you find the “best” place to stay in Rome – Good Luck!
