This article is geared toward visitors to Italy. As per the Italian law, after you have lived in Italy a year you are supposed to “convert” and get an Italian driver’s license. Different rules apply if you are an EU citizen or your country has an agreement with Italy. For the USA, none of these rules apply – you will have to have an ID and a valid driver’s license….
