Throughout Rome, some of the best places to get helpful information are the Tourist Information Points or I Punti Informativi Turistici (PIT). At these P.I.T.’s – or tourist info booths – are multilingual staff who can assist you. Here you will find promotional materials and information for tourist and cultural sites provided for and authorized by the City of Rome. There are also reservation and purchasing services for major attractions.
This is also where you can get your Roma Pass, Roma & Piu ‘Pass tickets, Metrebus ATAC tickets, free maps of Rome, tickets for the Tiber Boat Tours, the 110 Hop on/Hop Off bus and the Archeobus. When you make an online purchase of the Roma Pass, these are the P.I.T.’s – or info booths – where you will be directed to pick up your pass. If you go to these booths, you can use a major credit card to purchase your passes. The Tourist Information Office is also a good place to learn about the different tours (that they sponsor) which are available.
P.I.T.’s are also useful for:
- finding a hotel room
- finding places to shop or shopping suggestions
- purchasing tourist cards and trips
- picking up maps, brochures and pamphlets on things happening in Rome
The P.I.T.’s also have a pamphlet called … Easyrome. It is a mini guide to Rome, with useful information about customs, access routes, schedules and more. It is distributed free of charge, in the Tourist Information Points (PIT), Easyrome is a valuable tool for all travelers.
The P.I.T.’s are open 365 days a year and are found throughout the historic city and the main terminals of the Roman tourist traffic. The hours vary from location to location. There are a couple Locations that are housed in museums keep the same hours as the ticket office of the museum. Also note that most museums in Italy are not open on Mondays.
Below is a Google map and a list of the Tourist Information Booth locations. The number preceding the P.I.T. location matches the numbers on the map. Use the “minus” sign on the top left of the map to zoom in… and then use your mouse to move the map as necessary.

Can you get the Archologica Card at these PITS? Grazie
******** YES, you can! ************** Ron
Ron, have to tell you and mille grazie – you give some great info. If I could afford to pay you and you had the time to do it, I’d hire you to show me La Citt’a’ Eterna. We can buy the Arch card in the states thru Select Italy but it is almost 20.00 US more – is it really that easy to obtain in Rome – we arrive on a Saturday. Grazie ancore. R
